Description
Woven from pure tissue and lime linen in a combination unique to this piece, the kurta carries an all-over horizontal stripe worked directly into the weave — not printed, not embroidered, simply present in the structure of the cloth. The tissue brings translucency and luminosity; the linen brings matte texture and quiet weight. Together they produce a fabric that reads as watercolor: mint and ivory shifting with every movement, sheer enough to layer over the included cotton slip, opaque enough to stand as a garment in its own right.
The embellishment is deliberately understated — scattered floral motifs in soft blue-lavender thread worked into the lower quarter of the kurta, visible only when the light and the proximity are right. Above them, a zari patchwork appliqué at the hem border closes the composition in metallic warmth. Two techniques, two registers, placed with enough restraint that neither announces itself — the embroidery rewards attention rather than demanding it.
